Child Safety Policy

Last updated 26 May 2026

LearnPlus Academy Pvt Ltd ("LearnPlus", "we", "us") operates the educational website and learning platform at https://learnplus.edu.lk from Colombo, Sri Lanka.

LearnPlus is committed to creating a safe, supportive online learning environment for every child in our community. This policy outlines the protections we put in place and the responsibilities we share with parents and teachers.

1. Teacher vetting

All LearnPlus teachers undergo identity verification, character reference checks and signed undertakings before being onboarded. Teachers who interact directly with children also confirm they have no record of child-related offences.

2. Supervised interactions

Live classes are recorded and stored securely. Direct messaging between a teacher and a student under 16 is logged and may be reviewed by safeguarding staff. Parents have full access to their child's messaging history.

3. Parental oversight

Every student account under 16 is linked to a parent account. Parents can review their child's enrolments, attendance, assignments and teacher communications at any time via the Parent Portal.

4. Reporting concerns

If a parent, student or teacher has any concern about a child's safety on the platform, please email our safeguarding lead immediately at safety@learnplus.edu.lk. We respond within 24 hours and treat every report confidentially.

5. Online behaviour

We expect all students to follow our age-appropriate code of conduct in class chats and forums: respect, kindness, no sharing of personal contact details, no inappropriate language. Breaches are addressed quickly by teaching staff.

6. Privacy of minors

We minimise the personal data we collect from children. We never publicly display a child's last name, age, school or location without explicit parental consent.

7. Compliance

LearnPlus operates in accordance with the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the GDPR-K, COPPA (where applicable) and the Sri Lankan Personal Data Protection Act (No. 9 of 2022).
