Google Workspace & Digital Collaboration

Master Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive, Calendar and Meet for school and life — the lighter alternative to MS Office.

6 weeks Beginner Small-group live classes Online classes

About this course

Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Drive, Calendar, Meet, Gmail) is now used by most Sri Lankan schools that have moved online or hybrid. Our 6-week Google Workspace & Digital Collaboration course teaches Grade 6–12 students to use these tools fluently — not just to type in Docs, but to actually collaborate, share, version and present like professionals.

Students learn proper Google Docs workflow (real-time collaboration, comments, suggested edits, version history — most students don't realise how powerful these are), Google Sheets formulas and basic data work, Google Slides team presentations, Google Forms for surveys and quiz-making, and the underrated power of Google Drive sharing, permissions and organisation. We also cover Gmail filters, Google Calendar for school planning, and Google Meet for proper online classes.

Real student work: a collaborative group research project in Docs with multiple students working at once (we simulate this in class), a Sheets-based personal study tracker with formulas and conditional formatting, a Slides team presentation with proper speaker notes, and a Form-based survey of classmates with the responses analysed in Sheets.

This is the lighter productivity option compared to Microsoft Office Productivity Skills — recommended for students whose school already runs on Google Workspace for Education. Pairs well with Cybersecurity & Internet Safety since proper account and sharing hygiene is critical for collaborative tools. Required: a Google account (school-issued is fine).
