Professional video editing — storytelling, cuts, colour, audio and motion graphics — for the YouTube and Reels generation.

About this course

Video is how Gen-Z communicates — and Sri Lankan students who can edit video well find themselves running school YouTube channels, growing personal TikTok followings, helping family businesses with marketing, and earning real freelance income. Our 10-week Video Editing with Adobe Premiere Pro course teaches Grade 8–13 students professional video editing from scratch.

Students learn the Premiere Pro interface, project organisation, ingesting and managing footage, the timeline and edit tools, cuts (jump cuts, J-cuts, L-cuts, match cuts), audio mixing and music sync, colour grading with Lumetri, titles and motion graphics with the Essential Graphics panel, basic green screen / chroma key, and exporting properly for YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok and Facebook.

Real projects: a 60-second school-life vlog, a 2-minute how-to tutorial of the student's choice, a properly edited interview with their parent or grandparent (often a moving family memory), a music video using copyright-free music, and a final 3-minute portfolio reel showcasing every technique learned.

We teach storytelling alongside technical editing — what makes a video actually watchable, not just technically clean. Students should have a laptop with at least 16 GB RAM (Premiere Pro is demanding). Adobe Creative Cloud student plan recommended. Some past LearnPlus students have gone on to monetise their YouTube channels and freelance for Sri Lankan small businesses.
